Rudra Prayag is a district of Uttarakhand state. The place lies at the confluence of two rivers Alkananda and Mandakini. Rudra Prayag got its name, as it is believed that Lord Shiva appeared in Rudra avatar here to bless Narad. This is one of the Panch Prayags or five meeting points of Alaknanda River. Rudra Prayag is blessed with natural beauty. The majestic Himalayas, the beautiful sacred rivers, and rich variety of flora and fauna contribute to the beauty of the place. The main temples here are Kedarnath, Madhyamaheshwar, Tungnath and Kalimath.

The main tourist attractions here are:

Kedarnath temple: The historic temple is located on the banks of Mandakini river. Kedarnath temple is a part of Char Dhams and Panch Kedar in Uttarakhand. One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India is here. The pilgrimage time is from April to August. The temple is closed for six months due to Heavy snowfall and extreme cold weather during winter season.

Panch Kedar: Panch Kedar is five famous Shiva temples which can be reached only by trekking. These temples lie in the valleys between the rivers Bhagirathi and Alakananda.

Chota Char Dham: This is an important pilgrimage centre which lies in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The circuit consists of four sites Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Koteshwar Mahadev Temple: This is a cave temple situated 3kms from Rudrprayag. There exists a belief that Lord Shiva meditated at this place before going to Kedarnath.

Dhari Devi Mandir: This sacred temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali ie; Dhari Devi. To reach this temple you must trek down 1km from Dhari Village on road.
