Matheran is a hill station in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. This is the smallest hill station in India. This place has been declared as an eco-sensitive region, by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. It is Asia's only automobile-free hill station. There are many tourist spots in Matheran, which includes the Panorama Point that provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and also the Neral town.  The view of sunset and sunrise from here is worth watching. The main tourist attractions in Matheran include:

Charlotte Lake: The Lake is located just 1 km away from the main market of Matheran. This is one of the main picnic spots of Matheran. To the right side of the lake is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Pisarnath and to the left side is the tourist spots Echo Point and Louisa Point. The best time to enjoy the beauty of the lake is monsoon.

Mount Berry: This is a high cliff located about 5 kms from Matheran. The place is known for its breathtaking scenic beauty. The most fascinating sight from here Matheran Toy Train slowly traversing through the verdant woods and climbing up the Matheran Hill.

One Tree Hill Point:  This point bears only one big Jambhul tree growing on its top that’s why the place got this name. The way to reach the top of the One Tree Hill Point is steep and hazardous. Adventure seekers enjoy trekking up to the One Tree Hill Point via the famous ‘Shivaji’s Ladder’ of Matheran which climbs down from the hill to the plains. Panorama Point: This point is also known as the Sun Rise Point. This is the perfect spot to watch sunrise. Heart Point:  This is a popular viewing spot in Matheran that offers the majestic glimpses of the verdant plains and the quiet villages lying below. This point is situated in the middle of lush green forest.  This place is ideal for meditating. This is a good place for adventure seekers too.

Monkey Point: This point is located about 3 kms from Matheran. As the name shows, this place is abundant with monkeys.

Louisa Point: From here you can enjoy the fantastic views of the ancient Prabal Fort and Vishalgarh. The famous Lion’s Head Point is also located close to the place. This is one of the best scenic spots in Matheran.

Echo Point: This point is famous for its Echo effect.
