    Bhuj is a city of Kutch district of Gujarat. The place is also known as the Jaisalmer of Gujarat. The city derived its name from the Bhujiyo Dungar hillock overlooking the city located about 3 kms from the city centre. On the top of the Bhujiyo Dungar hill is the Bhujiya Fort. There are beautifully built houses and temples in the city built in Gujarati style. The place is famous for handicrafts especially embroidered textiles.

    The major attractions in Bhuj are the Aina Mahal, bell tower in Prag Mahal, Kutch museum with Kshtrapa inscriptions, Ramkund characters of Ramayana inscribed on the wall near the steps and the Hamirsar Lake with the cenotaphs and also the nearby wildlife reserves.

    Bhujiyo Hill:  There is a fort built by ancient rulers to protect the city. You can enjoy a nice panoramic view of whole city from here. 

    Chhatardi: The place is located near Hamirsar Lake. You can find here the gravestones of ancient rulers. This is a picturesque place.

    Bhuj is well connected by rail, road and air transport. The best time to visit Bhuj is during winter months from October to March.
