Exploring the garden city of India, Bangalore

Last February, I along with my friends visited Bangalore for attending an interview. Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka. Our stay was arranged in Melange Astris Serviced Apartments. After the interview we decided to stay back for some more days and explore the beautiful garden city. Bangalore city is full of natural beauty and has many beautiful and well-maintained gardens. Our first visit was to Cubbon Park which was at walkable distance from our apartment. The park is a prime tourist attraction of the city. It is spread over 250 acres with a number of architecturally beautiful government buildings inside. We could see some of the main buildings in the city such as the Vidhana Soudha, the Public Library, the Government Museum and the High Court inside the Park. There is an amusement park for children and Doll Museum inside the Park. The Park also houses the Cheshire Dyre Memorial Hall, and the Ottawa Chatter. We also visited the Vijayaranga Theatre Complex which screens children’s films and stage plays. There was a toy train also attracting children. Jawaharlal Nehru Planetorium, the only planetarium in the city, Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium and Kanteerva Stadium are also situated at a short distance from the Park. The next day we visited the Visvesvaraya Museum. The museum is really good for kids to learn and understand various scientific concepts. We also visited the Nandi temple (Dodda Basavana Gudi), Lal Bagh, Brindavan Gardens, & the Bangalore Palace. There were many Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Meditteranean as well as Indian restaurants nearby our apartment. We had great time tasting all those delicious cuisines. We also enjoyed shopping in Brigade road, Commercial Street and M.G.Road, the main shopping areas of the city.
