We friends planned for an adventurous trip last week and decided to go for trekking in Nilgiri hills. We pre- booked our stay in Bamboo Banks Guest House. We made this holiday guest house, our staying option from www.holidayrentals.co.in.

Trekking in Nilgiri[/caption]
Nilgiri hills are one of the oldest mountain ranges in India. The weather and atmosphere there was very pleasant and peaceful offering us a great trekking experience. The hills are located in the Nilgiri District of Tamil Nadu. We really enjoyed trekking through the gentle slopes of the Nilgiri Hills which are apt for trekking, hiking and bicycling. We got very kind welcome from the dense Shola trees which grow in abundance in the low gentle slopes. We also pass by many tea estates blend with orange groves and numerous coffee plantations.
We also got chance to meet the ancient tribes of Todas, Kurumbhas and Irulas residing there in the Nilgiri Hills. There are small villages and crystalline blue lakes intermingled with the Nilgiri Hills. We were offered tasty snacks crumpets, scones and coffee picked fresh from the coffee plantations in the beautiful cottages of Nilgiri. For those who want to get the complete view of the Nilgiri Hills, my opinion is to wander through the forests of Rhododendrons. In our trek we also visited the wild-life sanctuaries in Mudumalai and Mukurthi.
