A chilling summer holiday trip to Dalhousie

Holidays are always looked forward by us. Every year, on our long vacations, we always make plans to go for a trip and this year we choose it to be at Dalhousie. This was my dad’s suggestion. It is one of the beautiful hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. Dalhousie is in chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and so we first headed to Chamba. We had a plan for a whole one week trip. On reaching Chamba, it was pretty cold. Chamba has a great climate throughout the year. In winters it’s very cold, but otherwise it is pleasant. We stopped at Chamba for two days. It was really fantastic. There were many places where we could go and enjoy its untouched natural beauty like beautiful lakes, wildlife sanctuaries and ancient temples. We enjoyed the walks through the wildlife sanctuaries. From Chamba, we headed towards the Dalhousie. It took about 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Dalhousie. Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station built on around five hills. The mountain slopes here is just a treat to eyes. The snow covered mountains and the beautiful flowers, the cool climate and wonderful breeze, all together made it a great tourist destination. The main tourist places we visited in Dalhousie include; St. Andrew's Church commonly known as the Church of Scotland, Panjpulla (a town where the 'five bridges' memorial, built in memory of Sardar Ajit Singh, freedom fighter is situated), Subhash Baoli, BaraPathar, Satdhara (the place known for the seven holy hot water springs), Kalatop wildlife sanctuary, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Banikhet (the gateway to Dalhousie), and Bakrota Hills. We walked around at all those beautiful places and enjoyed the beauty of nature at its best. The trek from Kalatop to the nearby tourist spots was amazing. The trip was so much of fun and enjoyment that every minute we spent there was great. We enjoyed the trip so much and the memories of the trip would remain always fresh in our minds.
