Narkanda is a town in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 2708m above sea level. The place is surrounded by the Shivalik Range. It is a skiing resort in winter. This is a peaceful tourist destination located about 65 kms from Shimla. Travellers can also enjoy hiking up the snow covered mountain ranges and apple orchards. The place offers peace and serenity in midst of scenic natural views and plenty of adventure activities.

The best time of skiing is between January and February, when the slopes are well-covered with snow. The other best time to visit is from autumn ie; between September and November, when the woods around Narkanda are a riot of gold, orange and red. The nearest railway station is at town of Kalka that is 125 km away from the town. The nearest airport is Shimla airport.
