Triveni Sangam: This is the most important spot to visit in Allahabad.  The Triveni Sangam is the meeting point of the 3 major rivers of India Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. The place is also one of the major sites of the Kumbha mela held once in every 12 years.

Allahabad Fort: This fort was built by the great emperor Ashoka. This was later on repaired by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1583. The Fort is located near the triveni sangam confluence. There are high watchtowers in the fort guarding the 3 galleries in the fort complex. The Zanana palace for the women, the Saraswati Koop considered as the source of the Saraswati River and Ashoka Pillar can be seen insie the fort. The Immortal tree or Akshayavat can also be viewed from the outside from the southern wall.

Khusro Bagh: This garden houses three mausoleums built in the Mughal style of architecture. These three tombs belong to the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, Khusaru Mirza and his first wife Shah Begum and his daughter Nithar Begum. These tombs are fine illustrations of Mughal arts and architecture and are decorated with designed stone carvings.

Anand Bhavan: This was once the residence of the Nehru Family. Today a house museum that depicts the life and times of the Nehru family has been set up here. It also houses the Jawahar Planetarium which was built in 1979.

The best time to visit Allahabad is from November to April. Allahabad is very well connected by rail, air and road transport.
