Palampur

Palampur is a hill station in the Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh. The place is also known as the ‘Tea Capital of North India’. The hill station is rich in historic temples, and forts. Neugal Khad: The place is located about 2 kms from Palampur. This is an ideal picnic spot in Palampur. The place is also known as Bundla Chasm. There is a 300 mt wide stream also. From here the scenic views of the Dhauladhar ranges can be very well enjoyed.

Tashi Jong monastery: This was built in 1969 by Drukpa Kagyu lineage. The monastery is spread over 37 acres of land.

Gopalpur Zoo: This is a small zoo housing a variety of Himalayan birds and animals.

Andretta Art Gallery: It is here in this scenic village the famous playwright Norah Richards and artist Shobha Singh. There are plays still performed each summer to commemorate Norah Richards at the small open-air theatre here. The famous artist works are also displayed in the art gallery.

Chamunda Devi Temple: The temple is about 24 kms from Kangra and is dedicatd to goddess Chamunda Devi. The temple complex offers view of Dhauladhar, the Baner Khad and Dadh. From here you can trek for about 16 kms up in the Dhauladhar ranges to reach the ancient temple of Aadi Himani Chamunda.
