The Gadisagar Lake and the ancient haunted village Kuldhara are the other main places you pass by in a desert safari in this city. The lake is surrounded by temples and shrines of Amar Sagar.

To know the rich culture of folk arts and the musical heritage of Rajasthan, you can visit the Merasi Music School. If you are planning to visit this desert city in February, then you can be a part of the famous Jaisalmer Desert festival, which showcases local performing arts. The Desert Festival is an annual event organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation each February at the beautiful golden desert city. This showcases almost all the cultural wonders of Rajasthan State such as camel racing, turban tying, and the longest mustache competition.

On your Desert Safari, you should not miss a visit to the Longewala Post and the famous Tanot Mata temple. The temple is about 180 kms from the city near Pak Border. This is very close to the battle site of Longewala of Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
